By Matthew Cerrone - Dec 3, 2007 1:41 pm

Mets GM Omar Minaya will be talking to reporters around 5:30 pm EDT from Nashville today.

from what i recall during years past, he typically gives these mid-day updates to the media, during which he doesn’t say much, unless actual news occurs

    Maybe he is resigning.

    • ohboy says:

lol…with all the venom coming his way, i wonder if he’s going to do it via the Pope-mobile…just in case

      • air23ac says:

don’t brief us omar until you actually have something to say/report-spend the time trying to improve the club

this team has taken such a bad turn….i mean i thought the mets were going to beat the cardinals that year, and even though they didn’t-i was almost certain they would improve the team-2 years later and we are not even sure they are playoff caliber as currently constituted and they seem to lack the resources to get better

    • MetsieFan84 says:

Maybe Omar is going to report that the Mets traded Carlos Gomez and Heilman for Victor Zambrano.

  2. TheMonstersOutOfTheCage says:

for his own sake it better be good news and if its about citi field im gonna go nuts

  3. bigchart333 says:

he’s going to announce the acquistion of David Wells. 2 year deal for 6 mil, with an option for a 3rd

  4. boredatwork says:

hopefully he will give in his 2 weeks and then quit…haha

  5. TG1 says:

hahahha. honeslty if we cannot trade for an “ACE” then honeslty lets hold onto what we have and sign Carlos silva.

    TRADE HIGH…NOT LOW.

    Get Millz back!!!!

The Cincinnati Post’s C. Trent Rosecrans is hearing word of a possible Rays-Nationals deal as being done.

We know the two sides have talked about Elijah Dukes. The Nationals no longer need the outfielder with Lastings Milledge in town, but GM Jim Bowden probably wouldn’t mind the surplus if Dukes came cheap. If it’s not Dukes, perhaps the trade involved Edwin Jackson or maybe Felipe Lopez.

Maybe No News is Good News! So he won’t be making anymore dumb trades like the last one…

  9. stickguy says:

  12. AzMetsFan says:

I say 15 for every 10 minutes of talking (rambling)

    • MetsieFan84 says:

Do joo know what he’s saying? He will break news that Carlos Gomez will be traded for Sal Fasano. Then we will start up his collection of catchers.

  13. therealsandman says:

All omar is going to say is he is sorry to say that the mets are out of the running for every starting pitcher available and we just signed mike piazza to play RF
