David Wright was in a slump in the first month of the year, but he never gave you the idea that he would mope and sulk and bring the whole team down. Reyes slumped at the plate and ALSO showed no heart and no moxie down the stretch. When the first bit of adversity began to set in, he folded. And THAT is what worries me the most about Reyes. Not so much his bad tendencies at the plate in Sept.. .which can be corrected mechanically... but the light it shines on his TOUGHNESS and ability to work thru adversity. I dunno, is Reyes EVER gonna be clutch again, or will this prey on his delicate psyche for a long time. Remember, NY is not for everyone, and we will see if Reyes has the MENTAL toughness to make it in this town. Right now I'd say the jury is still out.
