Contrary to others on the site...I am not interested in a flame war with you. You keep posting away. But to me you have devolved into something like a one trick pony when it comes to posts. We all realize you think the Wilpons are cheap and are the reason for the 88 win season and not a 100 win season. Lets say Omar has the ability to spend $150M next season. What to do? where to spend it? Lets see... 1) Arod? never coming here this time 2) Posada? never coming here 3) Riviera? never coming here 4) Linebrink? who cares he stunk anyway last year 5) Andrew Jones? already got a CF 6) Eckstein to play 2b? why Castillo is better 7) Riske? maybe an improvement over Sanchez if he is not healthy but just ok. Not big money spent here obviously anyway hence not a money problem for the coupons 8) Dotel? might be on the way 9) LoDuca? Estrada is a better hitter and defender and we are about to cut him plus LoDuca can't find a starters job can he? Short list but now you can see. Even with a limitless budget there is nothing attractive on the market now. As to trades for big money guys....we are in on the Santana deal but may not have a match. It is not about not being able to spend the $$ on Santana which is primarily the reason the yanks are out as you have read. Willis and Pudge are again trades and maybe we can get Detroit interested. God knows they have dumped their entire farm system and they have budget issues and will be looking to dump salary. Point being Mr Met....you can bitch about the past (no Arod in 2000, No Vlad in 2001, etc etc. But right now you are bitching about the impossible. THe money is there to spent.
