Everyone on here agrees we need a pitcher that will eat innings, some dont care if its the back of the rotation or the top. Well Heilman is not that man, I dont care what you feel about his stuff. He has been a setup man for about 3 years now. How many innings do you think he averaged over those years? 94 innings, 108(2005), 87(2006), 86(2007). You think all of a sudden he's going to give you 180 + innings? The team needs him in the bullpen and the only way he'll get a chance to start is with another team that wont be in contention. The Mets came to their conclusion when they let him stretch out his arm and start a few years back and his performances were underwhelming.
