C’mon give me a break. Omar is doing a great job in a ridiculous trade and free agent money market. YES by doing nothing is some cases. Keeping his powder dry to try to get the best pitcher in baseball. Not wasting trading chips and or salary on free agents not worth half the going rate. No one wanted Lastings in this current trade market. The Mets didn’t have the chips to get Haren and you think it was because he traded LMiltz?
You guys have to lighten up. We are blessed to have Omar and Peterson and Willie. This team is now relevant on the field and in trading discussions and in the free agent market BUT for quality not crap.

That’s actually not really true. People seem to have that perception because he had one big game vs. the Braves on national TV. Short of that game and his next start vs. Houston where he was ok, he was consistenly (not improving) mediocre all season. And more importantly, he can’t throw innings.

Mulvey has had good numbers in the minors, and I do understand that he hasn’t pitched past AA. The Mets have used the 5th starter position to be a place to develop pitcher or to place a transient. That is what it was for Pelfrey, Gonzalez, Sosa, and others the last few years. So, as I understand it if we give up a big part of the farms pitchers, then we have to develop someone at the major league level. The past few years the Mets have held the same theory for RF.

The Mets have had the same M.O. for a number of years so I guess it’s experience. The Mets also believe they have the best pitching coach in baseball, so it is believed Petterson can get them through any pitching difficulties.

you are wrong. Haren is a straight up stud. All this guy does is eat innings and get guys out. He is cheaply locked up. He is a legit ace.

Actually, reading your post, it looks like you are the bigot. Central America is where he knows the players best, and he has brought in some real superstars into the leaguye out of there.

Well, my response to that is, I guess Omar the superstar GM who has revamped the Mets into an NL powerhouse, after inheriting the WORST FRANCHISE IN MLB, WHERE NOBODY WOULD PLAY, is doing bad because you say he is. You are the despicable human being. I feel so horrible for you. Youre life must really be awful that you are so angry. I know you will come back to me and say that you have lots of money and a hott girlfriend and a nice car, but really you live in your mothers basement and eat stale chips and get no girls ever.
