During an appearance on SNY last night, FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal said, though there had been ‘rumblings’ over the last few days that Johan Santana could be traded very soon, he’s not ‘gathering that.’
…from what i can gather, for reasons specifically associated with santana’s camp, my sense is that the Twins will pick up talks again after the New Year…
According to Rosenthal, the Twins are taking their time and waiting for Hank Steinbrenner to force Brian Cashman to include RHP Phil Hughes, though Rosenthal is not sure that will ever happen.

I loaded up the browser this morning, read the latest Metsblog headlines, scanned for “Mets get Johan Santana”. Nope, not there yet–back to sleep.
Yankees will get Santana… They ALWAYS get their man… I hope they don’t, but I think Hankenstein will force Cashman to deal…

By always he meant the times the Yankee PR machine admits it was who they wanted, they get him. When they don’t get someone, they never wanted him in the first place.
Didn’t they offer a deal to Torre that was turned down? Oh yeah, they didn’t really want him.

And again no news just unnamed “rumblings”. News flash people – these “rumblings” could be ftom anywehere, Santana’s agent, Twins GM Bill Smith, the guy at Starbuck’s who sells Rosenthal his coffee. Rosenthal has nothing to report.

These Santana rumors makes me kind of miss the days when I would have to wait 24 hours until I got my morning paper to hear the latest news.
I thought the Yanks already offered Hughes a while back? I know they Yanks pulled it off the table but seems strange that the Twins would be waiting for same thing they could have had 2 weeks ago. I think the Twins GM has no idea what they heck he’s doing.
I think they did but they took Kennedy out of the deal, or something like that. I definitely remember hearing the Yankees offered Hughes though,
