Points Guy, on the one hand we have firemetmanagement’s posts and on the hand we have the group that gives us: “We have the best record in baseball,” followed by “We have the best record in the NL,” followed by “We are in 1st place,” followed by they go into hiding for a few months. Now they are all back. Entertaining isn’t it? :)

Don’t tell him to become a Yankees fan for then he will have nothing to cry about. They are in the playoffs every year and have an outstanding farm system and will probably be in the playoffs for the next ten years. Wait, they don’t win the WS every year, in fact they haven’t won it since 2000, so he will have something to cry about. :)

Just something I wanted to add. Martin Brodeur and Scott Stevens both resigned with the Devils for millions less than what they could have gotten from other teams. They resigned because they liked where they were and were comfortable with the team. They even took flak from the NHLPA for doing so. So signing for less money, to be where you want to be, is not unprecedented.

come on .. you really think he knows keyboard shortcuts?? I think you're giving a little too much credit. Each one of those posts is painstakingly typed with 2 fingers

Don't worry T, I have every faith in the Phillies going bust this year. It took a great run and a awful Mets collapse to get them the Division. Now they've lost Rowand, Iguchi, Bourne, Lieber, Garcia, Lohse, Geary, Alfonseca, and Mesa. You made a good point about their little league park, but they play half their games on the road. Frankly, I'm more concerned about the Braves.

the phillies are always scary because of where they play for starters. i'm just crossing my fingers they just have a really horrible, awful year. yeah, that's totally bitchy, but one losing season, yes?

at least they won as many playoff games as we did.

The only one of those teams we need to worry about now is teh phillies, and I don't understand how you think losing Rowand's (career year) and signing Jenkins makes them better than the Mets. Please explain.

I'd rather get a PS2 in Livan than be stuck with a PS1 in Humber or Pelfrey. I think Humber and Pelfrey can be good solid #3 or 4 pitchers but they could use more time in the minors working on secondary pitches and then they will be available when El Duque needs time on the DL. If we don't sign anyone than we have no depth when one of our pitchers lands on the DL!
