Martin Brodeur and Scott Stevens both resigned with the Devils for millions less than what they could have gotten from other teams. They resigned because they liked where they were and were comfortable with the team. They even took flak from the NHLPA for doing so. So signing for less money, to be where you want to be, is not unprecedented. Just something I wanted to add. It took a great run and a awful Mets collapse to get them the Division. Now they've lost Rowand, Iguchi, Bourne, Lieber, Garcia, Lohse, Geary, Alfonseca, and Mesa. You made a good point about their little league park, but they play half their games on the road. Frankly, I'm more concerned about the Braves. I think Humber and Pelfrey can be good solid #3 or 4 pitchers but they could use more time in the minors working on secondary pitches and then they will be available when El Duque needs time on the DL.
