Stat: Collazo Being Used as a Starter
By Matthew Cerrone - Dec 26, 2007 1:16 pm

In six relief appearances for the Mets last September, LHP Willie Collazo allowed four runs through 5.2 innings pitched.

…for what it’s worth, collazo has so far been used as a starting pitcher during this winter’s Dominican League…

In 11 appearances, one in relief, 10 as a starting pitcher, Collazo is 3–2 with a 3.02 ERA, during which opponents are hitting .301 against him.

thanks to bill for the stats

hopefully that’s just to get more innings pitched…….

opponents are hitting .301 against him? thats not too comforting

  3. Jaded1983 says:

Hmm, low ERA, but high BAA. does this mean he is a ground ball pitcher mostly? Probably gives up a decent amount of singles but can get people to ground into double plays?

  4. Jose Lima has a 2.75 ERA in the same league, through 10 starts.

    This year’s Brian Lawrence…

  6. ExileInLA says:

Relax, everyone — someone has to start for the Zephyrs now that Pelfrey & Humber are both in the Mets 6-man rotation.

Collazo wasn’t going to see Flushing unless for some reason he had to change planes at LaGuardia.

Who needs Johan when we got a 2nd Willie??
