kazmir has shoulder issues and he refused to adjust his style...mike prior-ville is just around the corner for him...but yes it was a really STUPID trade...

instead of hitting up the athletix for a major leaguer...why not grab up their aaa pitching staff.

Colby Lewis
Dallas Braden
Erasmo Ramirez
Rudy Lugo
Ryan Meaux

give them gomez and heilman. most pitchers only survive the first 3 years of pitching in the majors. then they get figured out or pooped out...santana has his best years behind him....Minaya was lucky not to have gotten zito...great numbers he put up for them giants....lets hope he is lucky again and lets santana go to the yankees

Another source said he believes the Twins countered by asking for all three pitchers, along with Gomez and much-ballyhooed outfield prospect Fernando Martinez. The Twins originally asked for Jose Reyes. But one baseball man with knowledge of those talks says that possibility was dismissed "a long time ago."

"It's believed the Mets offered Gomez, two of their three best young pitchers (Mike Pelfrey, Phil Humber and Kevin Mulvey) and another prospect for Santana earlier this month. But according to one source who has spoken with the Mets, the Twins want the Mets "to rip up their whole farm system" for Santana."

He played for binghamton. I live there and go to games....that team was terrible. He really was a bright spot. He keeps the ball down for the most part and is very competitive. He may not have superstar stuff, but many many many pitchers without superstar stuff can be good if they battle. The names Maddux and Glavine come to mind?

That's probably because you allow him to throw fastballs, unlike Jedi Peterson

if we still had kazmir, we would not have Oli Perez, we would not have John Maine. We would have a LOT of question marks. Hard to argue the Kazmir trade was probably the biggest blunder of all time, but still who knows where we would be had we held on to himi. I like where we're at right now. The future is bright

I'll give you that. Willie is much better than Art Howe. However, it didn't help Howe's cause that his starting lineup on a lot of days included Jason Phillips, Joe McEwing, Eric Valent, and Danny Garcia. If Willie had that lineup, he'd be unwatchable too.
