As much as i want to see Santana in a Mets uniform I am starting to think it is not worth all of our prospects AND a ridiculously long 6-7 year deal.

I remember one pitcher who was considered a stud like Santana. He got a big [payday contract and ended up on the Dodgers and the Yankees. He was paid out big dollars and ended up either hurt or underperforming for most of his contract.

I am not saying this is comparable to Santana, but I do hesitate at this point . If it is just the money and years maybe, just the prospects, maybe but both...I just don't want to end up regreting this...

Sure, it would help - it would help any team; but it's not worth it - giving up prospects AND spending that amount of money when they're already proven winners. Trust me, Detroit is going to be amazing with adding the Marlin men - but Boston is still the favorite in AL.

well at least that thread was about 60/40 in the ratio of funny posts to don't-post-about-santana posts....

I'd much rather read sarcasm than whining.

Please, if you don't like the santana posts, don't read them. They will not stop until the trade is made. If that's a problem, go outside, read a book, or do something besides hitting refresh

whining about whining about whining about whining about whining

Oh Yeah! I almost want to go back to work ;)

okay, really, read the posts above. it's all about what the giants PAID for this mediocre QB, who's team makes the playoffs DESPITE his horrific play down the stretch.

I appreciate the idea. Maybe we can work out something that gets Isiah and Joel Sherman fired if Cablevision owns the Post. We just need turn Johnnie Cochran into a prosecutor.
