The team still felt like they were still in it and wanted the team to trade for more offense. Instead they traded off Castillo off for some minor leaguers. He was given the green light to begin preparing for spring like he normally does. He hasn't been just doing a re-hab, but has also been working on mechanics, a new pitch and overall strengthening. He's added about 15 pounds of muscle to that skinny frame of his. The Twins are trying to build a bigger, stronger and more versatile Liriano for 2008. Obviously the jury is still out on this and probably will be out for a while, but I haven't heard a bad report yet. Everything I’ve heard has been positive+. Great stuff, great potential. But he's been compared to Humber, and teams see him as worse than Mulvey. He's much more valuable to keep. However, this is Gomez's selling time. I don't have the faith that others do. Heilman may be like Pelfrey. Although he has huge value to the A's, how do you know that a team with Minnesota's bullpen will appreciate the 29-year-old hurler.
