whoa whoa whoa....how come no one else is a little bit surprised by the a's thought that crisp is the best center fielder in the game?....in the game? not even in his own division is he the best...he isn't even the best on his team. he got benched for ellisbury in the WS. that is ridiculous. gomez is already almost as good as him.

Santana would have to first waive his no-trade. He's not going just to any that makes the best offer to the Twins.

Well, if I remember correctly the sox doctors felt that Papelbon was a high injury risk from the bullpen that is why the Sox didn't want him closing. He has nasty minor league numbers as a starter. If you can bring Street and have Paps start you have one damn scary rotation at a great price.

A special treat for Ya'll:
When they want a batter filled with terror
they call on me, Rick Aguilera
slider's hot, I'm on the mound
with cool control I mow 'em down

Wow, that's a pretty ambitious username. Do you know something we don't? I hope your name doesn't befall the same fate as our friend at Blastingsthrilledge had to endure.

Anywho, it should also be noted that Gammons was also qouted as saying that the Mets are "trying to build inventory" to trade for Johan, durung that same chat. I still don't know what he means by "building inventory", so take it with an once of weed.

Again I ask, who takes over the backup role at short and third? Dont say Easley or Anderson cause thats just ridiculous. Theres nobody down at AAA to do it. God forbid Reyes or Wright get hurt and is out for a few weeks. What are you going to do, promote some AAA rookie with no experience and cant hit to replace them? If we actually had someone there to do the job I might be inclined to agree with you but with nobody as backup I cant see doing it. You guys keep asking if we trade the farm what are we going to do when one or two of our pitchers go down. Same principle here. You're going to be complaining why we dont have a quality backup. So please stop looking to give away something we dont have a replacement for.

Easley doesnt have the range for 2nd base anymore, what makes you think he could handle short? Easley was signed for 1st base, a little 2nd, and some outfield, but mainly as a right handed pinch hitter since he did well at that last year. Plus I dont think he ever played short since high school. Gotay is the main backup at the second, short, and third positions right now. So Gotay in no way is expendable.
