If thats the case where do you plan on finding a 1B to replace Delgado?

Nady can be that guy, but the Giants dont have anyone to offer to fill that need.

I wouldn't do Pelfrey, i have a feeling he just might turn it around. He was rushed and he has "ACE" potential.

San fran is desperate for a bat. They will trade just about ANYONE on their roster for a hitter. I would go for Lincecum if i could. Delgado has a history as a feared hitter, they would go for it.

Could have done it a year ago, but Delgado's value is no where near that now. Doesnt really seem to matter though, Omar seems inclined to stick with him as the 1B regardless.

That trade doesn't help the mets. Delgado is a better hitter then nady and morris has never had an era less then 4

Thats what I've been saying. Delgado and a few prospects for cain or lowry.
I'd still rather keep delgado and pull the trigger for blanton on Gomez, molvey and pelfrey. If they can get street in on the deal then the mets can add heilman also

It would have to be a fair money swap, Pittsburg isnt looking to add payroll or win this year (or any year)

They could turn around and trade Delgado to the Giants for more pitching prospects. He's movable if the Mets are picking up 3-4 mil of his deal.

..its not likely, but its managable for both teams.

Delgado also costs you production. If the idea is to bring in Nady to sit on the bench while Delgado plays 150 games at 1B then I would just as well have Angel Pagan back up Church. But if they bring in Nady to be the primary 1B (with Marlon as the backup) then I like the move much more.

If Delgado is still there then he costs you most of Nady's production.
