Free-agent RHP Kyle Lohse is now
willing to accept a three-year deal with a vesting option, reports Ken Rosenthal at FoxSports.com.
During a recent appearance on XM’s MLB Live, Lohse said that at least three teams are interested in signing him.
According to a report last month in the New York Post, “It’s believed the Mets have made an offer to the 29-year-old for four years, but it’s not known if it is for the $10 million per he is seeking.”
However, the following day, in a report for Newsday, Ken Davidoff wrote that the Mets ‘do not seem particularly interested’ in free-agent starting pitchers Livan Hernandez, Carlos Silva or Lohse, ‘unless their prices drop.’
In 34 starts for the Reds and Phillies last season, the 29–year-old Lohse was 9–12 with a 4.63 ERA, while striking out 122 batters through 192 innings.
Rosenthal also details the latest with the A’s, and the market for free-agent Pedro Feliz.

Meanwhile, the Daily News reported that the Mets are AND aren’t interested in Lohse.
don’t do it omar…hes horrible. =(
hes like a worse verison of glavine…
i rather give pelfrey and etc a shot….before signing lohse…
He’s like a worse version of jorge sosa
i like lohse….. alot but only if things are going right for him at the time. All the factors have to be right. Hes the perfect type of pitcher i like in the 5 spot. But for 10 million lets be serious. I dont even mind 3-4 years b/c i see talent in him and he will get better. even if hes 29. Still this should be his prime time. But unless they go to down to 6mill a year or lower…. i think we can do better.
I’d be thrilled to sign Lohse…..to a minor league deal.
hahaha theres no chance in hell that happens
what if we offer a four year minor league deal
Very gracious of him to lower his demands. What a gentleman.
Think it has anything to do with no team offering him close to what he was looking for?
I can live with A Rod and Santana gettin funny money deals, since they produce, but stiffs like Lohse and Silva getting 10-12 million, for 3-4 years, is just insane.
Kyle Lohse at 3 yrs/$15 mil is doable…any thing more is not doable!
