But nobody is in his ballpark, hence why he just had to recently lower his demands to 3 years and an option. It wouldn't suprise me to see an offer for Lohse of say 3/15, but nowheres near that kind of money. Pelfrey has the stuff but hasn't proven himself yet. This is a lack of confidence. The Mets should just say to him- You have the 5-spot. He wasn't worse than Chan Ho last year and quite frankly he has the stuff to be a top of the order guy. Go with it. If he pans out then you save your entire system by not giving it all for Santana.
