I’ll take your word for it, you’ve been here since I joined and I respect your input but I have to add that I’ve been a Met fan since the mid ’70s and this is news to me. I am glad they’re finally moving out of the Polo Grounds though (ha ha).

They’ll not only need a RF but a backup shortstop as well. Besides, they already have 4 secondbasemen on the roster, including one they must have liked when they traded Castillo to us. Gotay wont be included.

just because he wasn’t mentioned doesn’t mean that he couldn’t be included. He is far from worthless.

More likely, the various talking heads just regurgitate the same old crap, and don’t bother to really think things through like a GM. They just pick the names they know the best off the top prospect list, or the names that the last writer mentioned.

If the Twins are trying to compete, Gotay is certainly an interesting option. Also cheap and controllable for years to come.

Hey, Church, Mulvey and Gotay as the core 3? 2 ML players, and a guy that could win a rotation spot in ST, or at least be a mid season call up.

Just find a 4th guy that isn’t Pelfrey, Guerra, Gomez or F Mart, and go for it! This guy could be someone further down the food chain. Or even Guerra if you want it that bad.

Church, Gotay, Mulvey and Guerra. Mets get better now (although they do need a RF), and are still primed for the future.

Rosenthal has been luke warm on F-Mart. He has said that he is the best prospect in our system, but has never gone as far as fawn over him by saying he is a hitting machine.

F-Mart is a hitting machine, and we have know that for a while. The only question is if he will be a hitting machine like a Nick Johnson or like Miggy Cabrera.

Don’t confuse the system with individual prospects. The system could as a whole suck, but there could still be a couple of stud prospects hidden among the trash.
