donovan in Si talks about problem positons for several teams

twins

• Second base for the Twins: The Twins gave Alexi Casilla a healthy chance last year to secure second, but in 56 games he showed absolutely no pop and an OBP of under .300. His fumbling could clear the way for former Devil Rays infielder Brendan Harris, who has more power but strikes out a lot. Light-hitting Nick Punto, one of the original "piranhas," will be in the mix, too.

My offer is Gotay/Humber/Gomez/Mulvey/Guerra

take it or leave it.

Livan would be a huge risk. Every single year since 2004, his ERAs and WHIPSs have been going up, and his Ks and IPs have been going down. However, if we get him cheap and include Heilman in our deal for Johan, I'm all for signing Livan. We'd still have Pelfrey, Sosa, and Orlando.

Livan is a terrible option. He can throw innings, but he cant do that successfully. I'd rather see Phil Humber throw 150 IP and see anyone else make up the other 75.

Opponents hit .308 off Livan last year, and as Chris Jobe points out, that's a hall of fame average against the once decent Livan.

The man is 32* (easily 35+) and has logged an absolutely astounding number of innings thrown. No arm. This should be a minor league deal and no more.

the more i think about livan the more i LOVE the idea. he is cabable of pitching WAY over 200 ip, and i think last yr was just an off yr for him, wasnt long ago he was ace of expos, first nats. i would bet that his ERA would be closer to four than 5 in 08. of course it looks 150X better with livan and johan
