In an article I just read it says the trade will be final upon Santana agreeing to a contract extension AND all players passing a physical.... Given the heavy favor for the Mets side of the deal could the Twins claim someone like Philip Humber (who is coming off Tommy John surgery) did not pass their team's physical therefore they are revoking the trade? I am not sure how the process works, but I am just wondering if that is a possibility? That would be an awful loophole and not even sure it is something to be concerned about, but I think given the media reaction favoring the Mets I wouldn't be surprised for the Twins to try anything... I'm glad he "decided" to do something. He must have been on vacation or on metsblog this whole off-season and just realized he should go after Santana. It's not like he went after Posada or even thought about bringing A-Rod over. And he didn't even offer anything for Bedard. If he would have done his job right and brought quality over, we'd have Santana, Pedro, Willis, Bedard, and Maine/Perez as our rotation. We would've also signed Cordero and Wagner closing.
