Why is no one else mentioning the D-backs? After getting Haren, that put them at the top of the NL imo. I don't much care for Webb/Haren in any series. Someone is gonna have a rotten time getting through them, although I have complete confidence we can do it, I'm surprised nobody is talking about them.

Did anyone watch bonderman, willis, robertson, or rogers last year. None of them pitched well

willis is terrible, rogers is 500 years old, and robertson is average. it is nowhere near boston's. and zumaya won't pitch until after the all star break. nothing "sick" about that rotation past verlander and bonderman.

First off, after 2006 and 2007 the Mets window is closing fast. Glavine, Beltran and Pedro did not help, so,lets hope that Santana is that missing part. I feel good about our chances, but, not YET as good as 2006. I want that confidence back again and then we will be in like flint. The RED SOX are done, they wont repeat, are you kidding me. These are the RED SOX we are talking about here. They find a way to loose. Im not saying we will win, but, I think we are the best in the NL. We just have to play that way ALL SEASON LONG!! Go for the throat and DESTROY the other teams we play. Leave them bleeding and licking there wounds as they leave the field. We need to make a statement and put the Phillies in there place second 10 games behind us at the seasons end!!! I am not even worried about the braves and there ancient rotation. We got rid of our dead wood and added some good pieces and kept the core of the team. A team that finished second by 1 game even though we sucked down the stretch. Think of it like this, if we play as good/bad as we did last season with the additions that we have made we will at least finish at 88 games and I think it may be closer to 90. LETS GO METS !!!!

The yanks get good odds for two reasons:

1. They are the yankees and have been good for the last 15 years so people assume it will continue.
2. they have so many fans that want to bet on them that the casinos makes the odds lower so the don't get hammered when the yankees do what they did last year and make the playoffs.

My cousin and I were all over this move in the lines.

Right when the news broke we locked in the mets for the NL EAST @ 13-10, and the NL pennant @ 9-2.

By the next morning the were at 2-5 and 2-1 respectively .

Nice thought but that runs a distant 2nd to celebrating a WS title at Shea.

The Patriots beat the Chargers buy 9 last week, and the Jaguars by 11 the week before. How on earth do you think this line should be 21 points, especially after the Giants lost by 3 to the Pats just 4 weeks ago (and only the Pats had something real to play for that week)?? Your opinion is your opinion but it has no base, I think it'll be a close game.

"Making up numbers that will interest the betting community" is the same thing as trying to make real world predictions. If it induces people to gamble their money, those people believe they'll make money. So if everyone actually thought the Pats would win by more than 13, then everyone would put their money on that and Vegas would lose. They want opinions to be split.

Think about it this way. Omar's job hangs in the balance this year, as does Willies.

With as much hype as this trade has gotten already, can you imagine the hype it would receive if they Mets DIDN'T reach an agreement?

Santana wants NY. NY wants Santana. A deal will be made. There's no other choice.
