Over/under on Santana throwing the first Mets hitter?

I'm going out on a limb here and say Maine will toss the first Met no-no...He almost pulled it off twice last year, and I see him have a breakout year

If Johan wants us so bad (which is absolute BS, he wants money, dont let anybody fool you into thinking he has some sort of connection with the MEts, because he doesnt care at all. If he did, why wouldnt he just sign for 5/100. Still a ton of money. He is being greedy, no doubt about it. If a deal doesnt get done, it cannot be blamed on Omar, he brought in the guy everybody wanted. It isnt responsible to just give in and offer him whatever he wants so he doesnt leave. And Omar isnt signing the checks, so its not ultimately his final decision.

It would be amazing if Castillo came out and said Johan was being greedy and to slow his roll. He has to make a choice, does he want to play for a winning team (and still make an obscene amount of money), or just make the most money regardless. IF its the latter, go back to Minnesota, play out your last year and maybe the Giants will offer you your 200 million. I honestly would think it was awesome if Johan gets to greedy and a deal doesnt get done, and he goes back to the Twins and blows his arm out and never throws a ball again. I will be cheering for him if/when this deal goes through, but I really dont like the guy anymore. All he did was complain about the twins all year, hold them hostage all winter, and tell them when to trade him and pretty much where. Johan, you are not even a free agent, if you want 170 million wait til you hit the open market. If this was A-rod we would be hearing from all these idiots like Gammons etc. how A-rod is a cancer and all this. I would have gladly rather spent 300 mil on Alex then give Johan this type of money.

Wow. There are so many nervous nancies in here you'd think everybody's wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant.

People need to relax. Patience is the reason Johan Santana is even sitting at the negotiating table for us.

This whole extension thing has morphed into a very small do-over of the entire Santana trade process that preceded it; I've been reading the same article phrased slightly differently with varying degrees of pessimism or optimism over and over again. The problem is that despite being perfectly aware of this, and that the negotiations will most likely be successful and drag on until 4:59:59 pm this afternoon, I can't stop doing it.
Logic really would follow that it is in the Mets' best interest to let it ride as long as possible, as every minute that passes could be another 1,000 dollars chiseled off the demands from JS.
