Anyone who thinks Miledge and Gomez would flurish together this year was in for a rude awaking. They are both still years away from becoming quality players. Hopefully oneday they both find their groove, but not this year, and not both concurrently.

Yeah but what would happen when Milledge's speed actually got him to the ball? He looked like a bad news bear.

The fans loved Loduca's fire and personality? OK honestly speaking, all that club house fire and those outgoing media interviews were entertaining, but who really gives a darn. The fans liked Loduca's half way decent bat and what Met fans havnt seen in years, once in a while a botched stolen base attempt.

i disagree with most of you guys when it comes to gomez i think this guy is going to be a star i did from the start. This guy looked real raw to me just as reyes did when he first came up i know reyes hit 307 his first season but it was fallowed by 255 and 273 as you guys know speed does not slump and gomez is faster then reyes. Forget his great speed how bout hes listed at 6-4 when he grows into his body i think hes going to have big time power but dispite how high i am on him would trade him again in a heart beat for santana got to give something to get something Great trade omar now lock him up and hand him a blank check

Nrmax88,
I had a feeling you would still be depressed about this move. $170 is waaay too much for a pitcher, but I don't think its going to come to that.

Nrmax88, I respect your opinion regarding Gomez, but lets face it, its Johan. Gomez would be a great CF center piece for the future, but his plate discpline did not impress me at all. I think Lastings is a better hitter then Carlos, but time will tell. Of the two OF we lost, I miss Lastings bat most. I sort of feel like having Gomez was more of a luxury.

I hope he does well, so it silences those who say that the deal was so unfair. Yes, Omar got to keep his best prospect, but Gomez isn't a scrub.

I hope he has a better year than Melky, Ellsbury, Crisp, etc. Will he be eligible for Rookie of the Year. If so, I hope he gets it. I agree that Gomez playing in Minn v. NY will be good for him. I'm sure he's sad and upset about not being with the Mets, that's all he's known since he was 16. Hell, Alou was his best man. He'll be fine and I will cheer for him when he goes back to Shea.

Gomez may turn out to be Hanley Ramirez, or Alex Ochoa. If Hanley, the Mets can fork over the bucks in 6 years. Do you think the Red Sox regret getting Josh Beckett? They would do that again in a heartbeat.

good luck in Minnesota Carlos.

Welcome to NY Johan
