According to Ken Rosenthal, in a video report for FOXSports.com, there is a 50–50 chance that the A’s trade RHP Joe Blanton - with two teams showing interest, one of which is likely to be the Reds.

The Yankees, Dodgers, Rockies and Indians are not interested, says Rosenthal, though the Twins and Rays might be.

…ah, yes…remember the days of debating blanton…oh well

…by the way, these videos from rosenthal crack me up…they must be filmed in his house…ken, throw up a curtain behind you, or a faux book shelf, something…or, do a segment while playing that piano…that would be great…

I’m just happy the Mets don’t have to be linked to these rumors anymore. Blanton could really help the Reds finish a good off-season, but not at the expense of their top prospects.

Thank God we don’t have to worry about the Oakland A’s and their overrated pitchers, along with Billy Beane fleecing us.

I love Blanton though. He would be a great addition, depending, as always, on what he would cost.

Rosenthal is pretty weak. He always has that forced smile. Agree though, Joe Blanton is overated and i could see him imploding at Shea. (or Citi field)

I would love to see Rosenthal finishing up a rendition of “Hungry Like The Wolf” ala the Old Spice commercials and then turning to the camera to give his report.

That would just about make my year.

I would love to see Blanton, as I have mentioned in the past, I think he would be an excellent #5, somebody who is more than capable of giving you 7 IP in the #5 spot.

The last 2 years the guys we have had in the #5 spot have been lucky to get out of the 5th inning.

Also, our #5 guys have always come up hurt, Blanton is a really durable guy and still young.

As long as we don’t have to give up the entire farm for him, I’d say go for it.

Another point getting Blanton is like getting insurance. If Perez decides to walk at year’s end, we still have 4 solid guys at the top of the rotation.

OK 3 solid guys & Pedro.
