In an article for MLB.com, Marty Noble discusses why this spring training, Johan Santana will draw the focus away from last season’s failure to make the playoffs.

Noble writes:

“The camp will belong to him – Port Santana Lucie – the way the ‘05 camp belonged to Pedro, and the ‘96 camp belonged to Pulse, Izzy and Wilson, and the ‘85 camp belonged to Carter. This will be the Mets’ 47th Spring Training, and it will be all about No. 57.”

…agreed that santana will certainly distract the media from the “collapse” as they love to call it, but it’s only a matter of time before the questions arise…
