MLB.com is reporting that RHP Kris Benson has agreed to a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.
…if the Phillies thought they had a psychological edge before, then this should really put them over the top… i mean psycho…anna benson…i’m just sayin’…

Psychologically, how can the Mets get past having to watch Maine and El Duque ably fill 2/5 of their rotation knowing that rehabbing Philadelphia Phillie Kris Benson could still be theirs? Talk about a mental edge.

Probably won’t pan out, but I don’t see how you get on the Phils for making him a minor league offer-most teams do stuff like this. You do need pitching depth, maybe he provides some, maybe not. Even the mighty Mets had to start guys like Jason Vargas last season (twice!)
Thing is, you get Anna in the deal, too . . . and you’ll regret that one soon enough.
I wonder if Brett Myers will teach Kris the best way to deal with Anna when she gets out of line

i don’t see what’s funny about this…for a minor league deal benson is a fantastic pickup and a good deal better than tony armas jr.
i mean, obviously he was not coming back here, but i would very happy to obtain a pitcher like benson with no major league commitment.
It is amazing how Philly fans are excited about this signing. Kris Benson is poison on and off the field.
