I'd be happy if we signed Freddy Garcia to a two-year deal, just to have him around "in case" for the second half of this year, but also as a (hopefully) solid contributor in '09. Should 3/5 of our rotation walk after this year, what FA pitchers will be available---anyone know? And will we have the resources to pursue top-tier starters, or will we have to court Livan Hernandez again? Nothing, Colon was apparently out of shape and his shoulder is still f'ed, he was throwing in the mid-80's in winter ball and he wasn't having much success doing it. Why waste our time? The Bosox have the resources to take a chance, so what? He won't amount to anything, he's an incredible long shot to do anything this year. The Red Sox just seem more willing to throw away money. I have no problem with that. what are we missing?
