scroll up and look to the right side of the screen under Other MLB blogs for the link. it's fun to read both sides of the "rivalry". Just don't embarrass your fellow Met fans by being a d**k. I hate it when Philly fans come on here and act like idiots.

What is the exact web address for the philly blog? Beerleaguer.com brings me to a search site for that awful Artie Lang movie. How do I type the address to get to the Philly blog you guys keep mentioning? Dying to visit it and get into it with Philly fans. Thanks.

Definitely the Braves. IMO, you have to have grudging respect for a rival. I have grudging respect for the Braves, Larry, etc. However, I have NO respect AT ALL for the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves are pros. The Phillies are not. In a few years, my guess is they'll fade.

Their front office is WAY overrated. You think we have it bad with the "Omar sucks" crowd? Go to Beerleaguer and try finding ANYTHING good to say about Pat Gillick or Ruben Amaro, Jr. ANYTHING AT ALL. Odds are you won't. You NEVER had that sense with Schuerholz. You could call him a lot of things, but "incredibly stupid" and "Stand Pat" were not among them. And to tell you the truth, I have a feeling Frank Wren will continue that type of management, albeit not quite as competently as Schuerholz. And while the Braves have a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame as their manager, the Phillies have a guy widely acknowledged as being somewhere inbetween so-so and totally incompetent.

A fish rots from the head down. The Braves aren't rotting. The Phillies with Gillick at the helm are.

How can the Phillies be in the lead right now in the voting? I dont get the majority thinking the Phillies are the bigger rivals than the Braves. Short term memory for many of you huh? Just because of last season with the collaspe and Phiily being the champs, along with the banter between players this spring? That doesnt erase the decade of Atlants winning the division, the John Rocker incidents, Chipper and Andruw Jones with the "Larry" chants, the terrific playoff games we had with them, etc. For over 10 years we all shared such hatred for the Braves and their players until we finally won the division 2 years ago. I was at the clincher and remember how big that celebration was and the biggest reason was that we finally didnt let the Braves win AGAIN. Until us and the Phils battle for first and second place for at least 5 to 10 years with some memorable playoff games included the rivalry cannot be compared to that with the one we have with Atlanta. Sorry not even close. Lets not be so shortsided. If Philly becomes the bigger rivalry it will take some years to develop and until then it has to remain the Braves.

The Braves are our biggest rival,1 season can't make a rivalry, just a start. As far as i am concerned we still haven't beaten the Braves when both of our teams have been good. Until that happens, they will have the upper hand.

welcome to the interleague era of baseball. An AL team can very well be a rival, especially if you play them 6 times a year. i know it means nothing in terms of the record at the end of the year, but it still makes it a legit rivalry.

now if this was 1989 i would have thrown up a bit too, but the fact is those games sell out every year for a reason... and they will continue to sell out every year regardless of how good or bad those teams are... it's a rivalry, maybe not THE rivalry, but it is a rivalry

I feel the Braves thing is winding down a bit. I think there is still a rivalry but I don't think it's THE rivalry anymore. I bet in five years it won't even be a question that the Phils are our rivals especialy if they can retain utley, howard, and rollins.

with that being said, and i know it's not lgical, but i get hyped, angry, an all out nuts over the met/yankee games. Like it or not, that is a rivalry (for bothe sets of fans). I know they are in the AL and such but the guaranteed six meeting every year is enough to make it legit.

Braves will come and go. Phils will come and go (although i hope not) but rain or shine I will always want to beat the yanks.
