The Mets will play the University of Michigan - Fred Wilpon’s alma mater - today at 12 pm at Tradition Field.
To listen live to today’s game, go here or here.
…thanks to Jeremy K for the links…
…like yesterday, Carlos Beltran, Luis Castillo, Jose Valentin, Damion Easley and Ben Johnson will not play as they continue to nurse their way back from injuries…
The Mets will attempt to pitch Jason Vargas, Eddie Kunz, Billy Wagner, Aaron Heilman, Ricardo Rincon, Carlos Muniz, Nelson Figueroa, Nate Field and Ryan Cullen during the game.

Who is Wilpon going to root for?
I do believe that would be the Mets. He doesn’t want his 100M+ team losing to a bunch of college kids, doesn’t matter who is playing.
I think at this time, he could careless as long as his Met team comes out of it looking healthy.
“attempt to pitch. . . ” I like that.
That’s nine pitchers. I guess they will play the final inning even if the Mets are leading.
At some point they will go righty lefty.
The mets are home. The home team always pitches 9 innings.
why can’t the broadcast this?? I’m dying for some/any baseball action!!
this game is being broadcast…you can find the link at http://www.mgoblue.com
the two guys doing the game are michigan students…one of them is a mets fan, the other is a cardinals fan…it should be easy to tell who is who by their styles
is nobody else totally jazzed up that we can actually listen to a baseball game? i’m counting the minutes.
I am….they could be playing a team from the California Penal League and I would listen to every pitch….thank God that officially or unofficially game 162 wont be the last game they played….
the only issue is the amatuer crew calling the game. the guy sounded like phil rizutto on the leadoff hitter’s shallow fly ball to church…he nearly screamed when he said, “high fly ball!” but, was sad to finish, “Church comes in to make the catch.”
so is Wilpon interested in signing Drew Hensen
hahaha, nice one.
However, I think they’re going to try to get a good look at Zach Putnam. He’s a stand up kid with some nice potential. He doesn’t get much publicity because he’s not playing for a traditional baseball school but I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes first team AA at the end of the year.
neither link works for me
It’s a 4-4 ties after 9. No extra innings played. 2 run homer to tie it up in the end. Mich. held a 4-2 lead for a while, so way to not get beat!! Let’s Go Mets!
