Me too. He is a great closer, but as a person he is very unlikable. I remember not being very fond of him before he was even on the Phils.

Call me ignorant – I love baseball, but not having played past the middle school level, I don’t know some of the nuances of the “unwritten rules” – but what would make Wagner want to hit the guy? Seems like if it worked it would have been a smart play. Is this one of those macho Billy Bad-Ass things?

I’m really looking forward to the day when Wagner is no longer on this team. Obviously, I root for the guy to do well because he’s on the Mets, but he’s very difficult to like. For these college kids, it’s a huge deal to go up against a major league team, even if it is only an exhibition. Why shouldn’t they play to win?

I mean even if you look @ his quote:

Billy Wagner needs meds. He was seriously irked by a college kid’s bunt attempt in a ST exhibition? It was probably the biggest moment’s in the kid’s career to even be facing Wagner.

Wagner needs to grow some brass fixtures and stop trying to compensate so much. Attempting to intimidate every young player he’s threatened by doesn’t say much for his manood.
