amLinks: BP, BP, Banter and Rosters
By Matthew Cerrone - Feb 29, 2008 8:09 am

The New York Times catches up with Masato Yoshii, who is now a coach in Japan, and who would like to coach in the USA on day.

In a post to Mets Geek, John Peterson reviews the Baseball Prospectus 2008 review of the Mets.

Speaking of Prospectus, at Always Amazin, Matt Artus talks with BP’s Joe Sheehan about their report, the Mets and Jimmy Rollins, among other things.

At Hot Foot, Andrew Beaton returns with another edition of Beaton’s Banter.

The Brooklyn Met Fan provides a bit of commentary, ‘hoping not to sound like a Yankees fan,’ in response to MLB’s roster demands for away spring-training games.

I always liked Yoshii. I remember when he was left off the playoff roster he was asked by a reporter what he’d be doing. He replied (not quoting here just my reollection) - I’ll be sitting in the stands and whenever the manager goes out to the mound I’ll be yelling “Bring in Yoshii”.

His name reminded me of the dude who trained the Ninja Turtles.
