First base doesn't require the range of second base, we don't have to worry about his shady turning of double plays, and having a first baseman in the lineup who can run, draw a walk, hit for some power, and swing from both sides of the place is a MAJOR plus. And, unlike Michel Abreu, we know he can handle major league pitching. Fill-in first baseman? I vote Gotay.

In fact with the older players, it's maybe even a good thing they're getting the extra rest. I don't include Beltran in that, but I'm still not worried about him either.
