…as i mentioned last night, thousands of miles away, and this is totally Mets country…so much so that the local Starbucks has the Mets schedule on their community calendar section…
…at any rate, i am in the media room, which is more like a kitchen with desks to write from…which is odd…it’s quiet in here…several of the team’s beat writers just walked in, plunked down and are now tapping away on their laptops in silence…i am not totally sure if they know i am in here, which is pretty funny to me…i will introduce myself in a bit…
…the Mets dish out the day’s lineup and game notes in print on a table for reporters to grab on their way in to the media room…
According to today’s notes, SS Anderson Hernandez will bat leadoff, followed by 2B Ruben Gotay, LF Brady Clark, CF Angel Pagan, C Ramon Castro, RF Fernando Martinez, 1B Michel Abreu, DH Robinson Cancel and 3B Anderson Machado. Oliver Perez is today’s starting pitcher.
…i think i am going to get out here and hit the road for Vero Beach…i don’t have a ticket, but i plan to use the video camera from SNY and just sort of hang out, film the day and see what happens…wish me luck…
To keep an eye on my photo album from the trip, click here.

Hey Matt, why do you need a ticket? I was under the assumption that anyone with valid press credentials could get in the game … that there was a press box or at least a special section reserved for the media. Is that not so?
Yes, but I’d like to sit in the stands. So, for that, I need a ticket.
In this case, call me General Admission, I guess.
you are soooo lucky!
Matt it doesnt seem like the Mets brought the mandatory 4 regulars to the game. Is that right?
I think they should wear New Orleans Zephers uniforms with that squad…
but everyone is ailing so I guess they wouldnt even have four. Wright and Reyes getting the day off ?
i went to psl last yr and 3 years ago…3 years ago i went to a place called the st. lucie ale house which supposedly was good on tuesday nights…and it was i suppose maybe a little younger crowd…but in walked cliffy and cameron…and cameron was wearing a dodgers hat…swear it…very weird any way it was cool to see…also that week i was in the chilis right near the stadium and me and some buddys were talking to one of the mets clubhouse guys and kaz matsuis interpreter and while we’re sitting there david wright walked in…didn’t want to bother him but just said hell and shook his hand…it was awesome and he ordered a round for one other minor leguer he was with, the clubhouse guy and kaz’s interpreter haha…but anyway st. lucie during spring training is a must for any met fan…just thought id let everyone know
Looking at that line-up it seems to me that the Mets may get reprimanded again for not bringing 4 regulars to a road game. I only see Perez as a regular no? Pagan? F-Mart? Gotay was a bench player. Where are the regulars?
On a side note: Presale for Met tix buyers started this morning at 9am. Very difficult to go through the screens and search for games and tix. Every time you release tix you dont want you have to re-type “JOHAN” again in the password box, and every time you want to search for available tix you have to type in a hard to see verification code. Annoying. Anyway I was able to get 3 day games (all my 7 pack games are night so I wanted a few day) and decent seats such as Mezz. Reserved Sec. 12 Row A. First row in Mezz. by home plate is pretty damn good. Most games I wanted and searched for tix for had crappy seats available. Tickets are very expensive but its worth the price I guess for Johan Santana. Can only imagine what Citi Field prices will be like. Uggghhh.
yeah i got that too but theres not games that really stand out to me…i wish i knew when johan would be making his firs start at home but its too risky to guess on that i think…hopefully it will be rally towel night.
