charlie, i have the same feeling too i just want to see castillo and beltran play in a ST game so i can rest a little easy. delgado to me is replaceable bc of how poorly he did last yr if hes out for a while, even castillo is replaceable if he were out for a while but if we lost beltran for longer than we originally planned we are royally effed offensively and defensively.

See I’d just rather have Gotay then Anderson. Anderson is better defensively but not so much to make up for his total lack of offense. For me, Gotay’s bat outweighs his marginal defense.

I think he would be perfect if we did not already have Anderson and Easely. To me he is overkill.

The problem of getting a FT 1B is, what do you do when Delgado is healthy (on the off chance it happens)? Dumping him somehow eliminates that problem.

I’m not saying he deserves a starting job, but I like his bat off the bench. Being a PH and putting up strong numbers is often difficult too since you aren’t getting regular work.

But you have to look that many of those came in a PH role in which he was only seing RHP. If you stretch him out as an everyday player he does not do as well as we saw last season.

Speaking of injuries, anybody read about that Yanks fan sent to the hospital in Cambridge by a bunch of Sox fans? I may hate the Yanks, but kicking somebody’s face in for wearing a cap…disgusting.
