…ok, let’s try and go over this one more time…
Duaner Sanchez is temporarily sidelined due to soreness in his surgically-repaired right shoulder.
Ryan Church had tried to work out today, but felt dizzy and so he will remain sidelined until he is back on his feet after having suffered a concussion in a collision with Marlon Anderson, who bruised his chest.
Moises Alou will likely miss 4-6 weeks due to hernia surgery.
Carlos Delgado took ground balls and hit off a tee on Wednesday, and did not feel pain in his hip. He will try to take batting practice tomorrow.
Carlos Beltran has yet to play in a spring training game, as he continues to recover from off-season surgery. He says he will be ready for opening day.
Orlando Hernandez threw his first complete bullpen session and did not complain of any pain after it was done.
Endy Chavez and Jose Valentin took batting practice and ran the bases on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both expect to play in a game this weekend.
Ruben Gotay has a sprained ankle.
Michel Abreu has been sidelined with a strained right hip flexor.
Brian Schneider has missed the last few games with a strained hamstring. However, he has been taking batting practice and catching back at camp.
Also, my back hurts and I may be getting a sinus infection.
Moises Alou will miss the start of the season due to hernia surgery.
Alou suffered the injury during Monday’s game with the Braves.
He is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.
…if you are somehow surprised by this, you haven’t been around very long…
Tagged Moises Alou |The Mets took another walk-off Grapefruit League win today, beating the Dodgers, 3-2, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Johan Santana tossed three innings, allowing two hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out four.
Steven Register followed with two scoreless frames, in which he struck out two. Scott Schoeneweis, Nate Field and Joe Smith each pitched one scoreless inning. Juan Padilla allowed an unearned run on two hits in the seventh.
Anderson Hernandez was the offensive hero for the Mets, knocking in the game-winning run and going 3-for-5 on the day. Fernando Martinez was machine-like at the dish, notching two hits — including a double — and a walk in four plate appearances.
Smith earned the win in relief, while Tom Martin took the loss.

…earlier today, i watched Willie Randolph, Guy Conti and Jerry Manuel lead a group of outfielders, pitchers and infielders in a fly-ball and cut-off drill…
…as you can see in the video below, willie held court, explaining to each position what it is they should be doing from the field…how to make the call…why to make the call…where to be…and to be loud…players asked questions, and he answered…conti talked to the pitchers about backing up bases, after throws have been made…they talked for a good five minutes or so…John Maine took a knee, and seemed quite attentive…actually, they all were, for the most part…
…willie broke up the group, each player manned his position, and conti jumped behind the fly-ball machine, while barking orders to people…it sounded like any baseball camp, from Little League to college…it felt no different…
…by the way, Jose Valentin was working out at first base…
Mets 3B David Wright appeared on ESPN First Take today, and talked about last season’s collapse, Johan Santana, fantasy baseball and his prediction of Carlos Beltran winning the MVP, among other things.
On who he would take with the first pick in his fantasy draft, David said in jest:
“Clear choice would be myself. I can steal a few bags here and there if I need a fantasy win.”
Speaking of fantasy baseball, click here for ESPN.com’s 30 Burning Fantasy Questions where they breakdown the Mets rotation behind Santana.
The Mets just announced that Moises Alou has a strained groin and has been sent to New York for as MRI.
…it’s just all so hard to believe…Omar Minaya talked to reporters a few moments, details of which will likely appear on our favorite beat writer’s blogs, such as the Journal News, Newsday, and the Daily News.

Carlos Delgado did some light hitting from a tee today.
He told reporters that his hip feels good, and hopes to take live batting practice tomorrow.
…of course, that will all depend on how he feels following today’s tee session…
…it’s starting to fee like two steps forward, one step back with so many of these players and their health…
…Billy Wagner threw in the bullpen this morning, and continued to work with Rick Peterson on throwing from a full wind up, not just from the stretch, while mixing in a variety of pitches, including a curve ball…
…the best part was watching peterson stand next to the catcher, fearless, giving the occasional thumbs up to wagner when a pitch would land in their desired spot…
…the following will be this year’s Topps special-
edition baseball card for Johan Santana, which comes courtesy of our friends at Topps Baseball…
This special edition card will be available only in the 2008 Topps Baseball Team Gift Sets due to hit stores in June.
…i am excited to watch santana pitch today…my cousin, john, will be driving in from Orlando, so he and i will watch the game from the stands today…oddly, this will be the first game i have watched since i have been here…during the other games, i spent all of my time running around, taking it all in…i miss baseball, though…and i look forward to just hanging out with my cousin and enjoying the game…
