I had what was called a "Grade 3" bunion on my right foot, supposedly one of the worst kind. I had the surgery, which certainly included shaving the bone down, and I was back up running on my treadmill in 6 weeks. Granted, I'm not a professional athlete, but two years seems ridiculous. Having unfortunate personal experience with this, they have made great strides in the surgical procedure to fix bunions, and the recovery time is probably equal to what Alou is looking at. Why not just get it fixed once and for all and not have to worry about it any more?
