Game 2 -- Maine gave up just 3 ERs. The Mets led when he left the game. It was Mota and Wagner who gave it away. Game 3 -- Trachsel stunk. Game 5 -- Glavine gave up 3 ERs which is not bad. The Mets lost 4-2 and they just didn't score. Game 7 -- Ollie pitched a gem. The Mets lost 3-1 on the homer off Heilman. They won game 4 where Ollie gave up the 5 runs. Could Pedro have made a difference? Hell, yeah. He instead of Trachsel would have been big. But overall I really don't think starting pitching was a bigger issue than the pen or untimely hitting in the NLCS. In all fairness, in the games they lost in the NLCS, starting pitching was NOT the issue (with the exception of Trachsel’s stinker).

I have never been under the impression that he was particularly sophisticated--seems like a big hick, really--but I have no doubt that he's seen a laptop before, and I am pretty sure he knows what blogging is, so why the fascination with Matt at work? Did he think Matt was some member of the paparazzi doing a piece on Alyssa Milano's ex's, or something? Seriously, though--great job, Matt. You showed us the angles nobody else did.
