How is Pedro facing Beltran unique? They both played in the AL together for years...Beltran is 4-13 career vs Pedro with no extra base hits and 3 K's.

Exactly what I was thinking. And, if the release points are the same (just like with Johan), oooooohh boy is this going to be a good year!

i agree with that, i think beltran needs protection. unfortunately i doubt he'll get much of that this year between delgado sucking and alou not being on the field.

i know you want to make something of this, but like my response below says, Pedro would be pitching in games if was going to be traveling, and if he really was injured, why would he be on a schedule right now? Sure, they're simulated games, but he's still on a schedule. If he was injured, i'm guessing he wouldn't be pitching at all.

in 2005, pedro pitched 11 innings about the same as every other starter.

in 2006, pedro pitched 7 innings just a few inning less than the other starters.

in 2008, pedro has pitched 0 innings

doesn't mean he won't be great, but the mets are known for being uncleat about medical info like sanchez

zen, you should also be reminded of the fact he hardly pitched in spring training at all in '06 and came out and dominated, and really didn't do much in '05 spring training wise either, and dominated then too.

pedro WOULD be pitching in real spring training games right now, but he doesn't want to travel, so no opportunities have come up. The fact that he's only pitching in simulated games means nothing. IT's just how the schedule has worked out.
