F-Mart--I've seen almost all of his ST AB's--is a great line-drive contact hitter. He can hit to all fields, has a good eye, good speed, and swings at good pitches.

I think early in his career he'd be a great #2--better than Castillo.

He'll pick up more power as he gets older, probably projects to a classic #3 type hitter in a few years. I think that in a year or so, best to move Castillo to #8.

Delcos:

Duaner Sanchez said he’s close to throwing in back-to-back games, which is the test that tells him he’s ready.

“I don’t feel like I had surgery,” Sanchez said. “I expect to be there (for Opening Day).”

Me: From once a week to back to back days? I'll believe it when I see it.

yea but sosa is pretty old and we need to get younger. I like his power but i think hes injury prone as well. I believe if we get anybody its gotta be someone relativly young that can cover for alou and some of 09 if Fmart isnt ready. I see sosa at most a one season solution if the mets were to persue him. And solution is probably too big of a word to use anyway. I still stand by giving pagan a chance to see what he can do.

Hmm... not a good sign that they pulled Beltran for a pinch runner as soon as he got on base.

Los Dos are now what... 0 for 11, 5K (all Delgado), BB over their last 2 games?

I didn't jump on the panic bandwagon, but I am starting to get concerned.

The revievers were the story today

Wagner, Heilman, Joe Smith, and Rincon combined for:
4 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 BB, 5 K's

Danuer is just not ready yet, and I would assume he'll need some time in extended ST or AAA to get in regular season form. He looked alright, he just doesnt have the edge to get hitters out.

Anyone here Steve Phillips on Mike and Mike talking about how Sosa would be a good fit here based on his splits and the fact that the Mets would not need to get rid of a player ont here roster.

Nick Evans hit a double off the CF wall which would have scored the runner in front of him but it was called a ground rule. The next batter knocked them in for a 2 run inning.

its now the top of the 9th, Rincon is pitching and its 6-2 Mets

K ends the game
