Pedro Martinez successfully tossed a 59–pitch simulated game yesterday at Tradition Field.
To watch video of Martinez’s session, go to the Daily News.
Martinez talked with reporters after the ‘game,’ and said:
“I think the stamina’s there, the strength is there to go over four innings…I got a little more than 55 pitches and still felt pretty good…Today, I just felt like I was starting to warm up. I’m thinking, if it was a real game and I felt so good, it would have been the same. The key is just to feel healthy, and I really felt that today. I feel like I’m really, really healthy…

Anybody catch the back of the New York Post (A photo shoot pic of Santana and Pedro)? Its a beautiful thing… Wish I could frame it.
Whats this, we’re getting SNY pop-ups now?
pop-up blockers work pretty good.
seriously….how hard is it to block a popup? its built into people’s browsers
Do we know why Pedro pitched another sim game instead a real game? I know the first one was because of the rainout, what was the reason this time?
he didn’t want to travel to pitch against the Sox yesterday, and it was his scheduled day to pitch, so he pitched sim game at home instead.
Pedro does not do away games in ST (viz. “I told you I don’t play in gray pants” quote after the rain-out).
He only agreed to make the trip to the rainout because it wasn’t that far and he’s itching for pitching
Yesterday was a much longer bus ride, hence no Pedro.
He scheduled to pitch a live game Sunday.
He’s*
Like The Jacket said, “It’s one small step for Pedro, one giant leap for the Mets” lol I found that funny. Btw I will be at that game Sunday, as well as Johan’s game Saturday.
