Health: Stache’s Neck, Castro’s MRI
By Matthew Cerrone - Mar 18, 2008 8:01 am

As noted yesterday, Jose Valentin is sidelined with a pinched nerve in his neck.

For more on Valentin’s future, which could include retirement, sooner than later, check out Newsday, the Journal News, the Star-Ledger, and the Bergen Record.

…the word in New York is that results from Ramon Castro’s MRI will be announced as ‘negative,’ leaving him simply with a tight right hamstring and out of action through the next few days…

Meanwhile, Brian Schneider is expected to return to action at some point before the end of the week.

apparently Castro isnt that out of action..

The Mets announced this morning that Ramon Castro’s MRI revealed a strain of his right hamstring. The official prognosis is day-to-day (of course). But it is a good sign that Castro is behind the plate catching Mike Pelfrey for this morning’s simulated game. - David Lennon

“To go through pain (again), rehabbing - no … My career has been good enough. Move on. Plan B. Coaching, taking care of my kids, living la vida loca,” Valentin said.
