Yeah, could be . . . but I do see different wording from different sources for the same quote all the time in the papers.

As for the Milledge trade, only time will tell.

Nice to see Gotay playing...especially since Matt had him dead and buried a few weeks ago...i think the line was "this may be the last we ever see Ruben Gotay"

quite possible that these were two different interviews and billy was independently busting balls during each of them.

that said, this milledge trade is really looking awesome. just saying.

It amazes me that two professional newsmen hear the same simple one-line wisecrack from Billy Wagner about Brian Schneider, and at least one of them can't even get the wording right:

Hubbach: "Why are you interviewing this guy again? He never plays!"

Lennon: "How many times are you going to interview this guy? He hasn't played in 10 days."

I know the spirit of the quotes are the same, but c'mon, it's like a musician with a tin ear. Get the quote right -- we don't want your interpretation of what was said.

I see this all the time, and I can easily understand how a pro athlete might sometimes complain how his words are taken out of context.

there are still 10 or so days left of Spring Training for church to get his stroke back..although Schneider has been MIA for the whole spring, he is still catching our pitchers during warmups, and bullpen sessions...not overly concerned about those two guys,.....yet

With Alou out the Mets look quite venerable to left-handed pitching. I would expect to see them get a steady diet of left-handers from those teams that have decent left-handed pitching. If he is healthy (a huge if) I would love to see Castro get the lion’s share of catching when the Mets face left-handed pitching. His offense is sorely needed.

I'm sure he knew that as soon as he got traded. Now that the Mets are missing most of their power in the lineup and probably will never be the same, people will have unreal expectations for Church.

In his defense, he did get a few solid swings. Unfortunately, the ball went straight to the outfielder.
