i know that this comment dosnt belong here but the blue jays cut reed johnson today as shannon stewart won the starting job…my question is…does anyone think that the mets will make a play at johnson…hes a lifetime .280 righty hitter that plays all 3 OF positions and would be more than valuable off of the bench, he would also come at a cheap price

oliver perez errrrr where do i start…… point blank and period this guys inconsistency’s is what drops him from a GRAD A- pitcher to a C+ overall pitcher .. its sad to .. so much talent and it only shows not even half maybe a quarter of the time he performs …tisk tisk…

Mets really owe it to themselves to look at reed johnson…at the very min. just sign him to a deal and have him duke it out with pagan for an OF spot…the fact that he hit .320 with good defense and speed. He can add another element to the offense…

have him, beltran, and endy in the OF after the 8th inning and our defense is pretty set..

I like Pagan but his defense scares me…

Reed Johnson had a very good year in 2006. Batted .319! Close to 90 runs score as well. He is a leadoff type hitter so he doesnt have the pop we need but even still I wouldnt mind having him. He is an Endy Chavez type though which we have. Great defense as well.

he could cost them a player if they lose someone else from the roster. Unless he replaces someone that can go to AAA. But, with back issues, is h really likely to be better than Pagan?

They should grab him if they can…he’d be a nice RH platoon w/Church / fill in for Alou / insurance for Beltran, without costing them a player.
