  1. rogasm says:

St. Louis, MO I know Danny1986, but that’s it.

  2. Mr. Bananagrabber says:

Rochester, NY. More specifically, anyone else want to meet up at Sports Page on Monroe for Opening Day?

    • londoncatfish says:

I was gonna just hoof it from my office down to Matthew’s on East (the owner is a big Mets fan) but I could try the Sports Page. Haven’t been there since I moved here last year.

      • Mr. Bananagrabber says:

Sports Page has a huge neon Mets sign in the front. I thought that served as a welcome mat.

        • Mr. Bananagrabber says:

But, I’d go to Matthews too. I like it there.

        • metsphanrochester says:

I see lots of Mets gear around…must be that dont know the site…I have to work or I’d be there…maybe next time…thank god for DVR

    • seth1280 says:

Is this set as Sports Page on Monday or was the location changed.

      • londoncatfish says:

I’m down with Sports Page for Monday. I’ll be in work gear, but I’ll be there.

  3. Joedhimself says:

    Buffalo NY

  4. thestache says:

Down in the ATL…Let’s go Mets

    • fanbunker says:

      Second for Atlanta.

    • NickA33 says:

I live in Atlanta and will be attending all 3 games next weekend. I plan on tailgaiting for the Friday and Saturday game. Hit me up if you’d like to get together!

      • Raditz says:

Also in the ATL. Is anyone going to a bar downtown to watch the opening game (mets@marlins 4:10pm)?

        • NickA33 says:

Probably not , I have MLB package. But if you’re looking for a bar w/ good food try The Elbow Room in Buckhead. Owners are from NYC – Yankee fans, unfortunately – but they’re still good people and the food is great.

I go there to watch games on Saturday sometimes…

        • fanbunker says:

I work downtown ATL and could be at a bar by 5. How about Jocks or STATS?

        • Raditz says:

Stats sounds good. Never been there before. I will be there at five. The guy with the Seaver jersey.

        • fanbunker says:

STATS it is. I’ll look for you (I’ll have my Mets hat on). Name is Mark.

        • Raditz says:

Sorry, how rude. Name is Jay. Go Amazins! See you there.

  5. Chris Jelic says:

Washington DC, but will Opening Day be televised nationally?

    • gomets6091 says:

I’m in DC too, and I’m sure there has to be at least some bars that have the Extra Innings package and have a New York bent. I know the Crysal City Sports Pub in Arlington and the newly opened Blackfinn in Bethesda (right around the corner from me) are Giants bars during the football season, although that would probably make them Yankee bars if they do baseball too.

Either way, I’m away for the weekend, so good luck finding one, but I won’t be able to attend.

      • elonmet says:

I am DC – Porters at 19th and K has the package and most of the bartenders are Mets fans so you can always get the the game on.

        • pezao says:

I’m in DC and will be there. I’m 6′8″ with a shaved head so you can’t miss me. Hope to see many there.

        • Steve.P says:

I’m in DC as well. i’m a member of the meetup.com DC Mets Network, but a lot of the meets take place in NoVa or MD. I wanna get something started in DC proper. In NW, to be more specific…

        • stevengoo says:

          I’m also DC

        • mdguy429 says:

I’m in the DC area too, in Silver Spring. I know of 51st state, on Pennsylvania I think. They play every NY sports team. Won’t be able to go out for opening day, but any other time during the season, I’ll be wherever the people are!

        • 51st state in foggy bottom is definitely good for mets games. baileys in crystal city or ballston is probably your best best in NoVa. I dont know whats good in MD as i live on the other side of the potomac.

i here camelot is a great place to hang out as well.

  6. Frank Gaffington says:

what about a tailgate for opening day, or a meetup after the game in manhattan pending victorious results?

  7. atrain311 says:

    Saratoga Springs, New York 12866

  8. bonatom says:

Cincinnati Ohio…. ANYONE???? I’m a Relocated EX-NYER I am pretty sure it’s going to be hard to concince some Sports bar to turn off the Reds game and buy MLB Extra Innings so me and the other NY Met FAN will be able to watch it… I Guess I have to open up my own bar!

  9. kowalski69 says:

How about a meetup in Queens?

  10. Metsf97731 says:

    Baltimore, MD

  11. jonas22 says:

Ft. Smith, AR…..wow I said that out loud…..but seriously, there has to be someone else

    • mrmet82 says:

Jonesboro, Ar. I know it’s not that close but by far the closes. Surprisingly I work with at least 2 other Mets fans(OK one is my sister) and know of at least a couple more in the area besides the ones I converted!

  12. brucemagic2007 says:

    Charlotte, NC

    • NCmetsfan2 says:

A baseball fan in Charlotte? I thought I was the only one.

      Let’s go Mets!!!!!!!

    • Mets31fan says:

Where in Charlotte would we meet up? Downtown? Southpark? Ballantyne? Stonecrest? Who will have the Mets on instead of college basketball?

  13. STH says:

Norfolk, VA. There are a handful of us lurking around down here. I’m sure there are a few more.

    • Jim says:

Hampton, Va Come on there has to be more than two of us. The Tides have only been gone one year (the real Tides). Maybe we can get David Wright’s family to go out.

  14. sabotfiveo says:

    new orleans, la.

  15. appleinahat says:

    Boston???

    • murphdog34 says:

      BOSTON!

    • motavation says:

A relocated Mets fan in Boston, MA..I got a dish and I’m watching all season long…I bleed orange and blue in Red Sox nation.

      • cd925 says:

Boston! I live and die with the Mets, and I can’t stand Red Sox nation.

        • lewchr says:

The fact that you have to pay to be a card carrying member of Red Sox Nation is such a joke. It is tough being a Mets (and Jets) fan here Boston.

        • jcervone7 says:

Can’t wait for the Mets-Red Sox world series this year

        • JohanItOver says:

Would be even sweeter than rubbing in the G-Men victory over tha PWWAAATS!

          hate boston teams

got the dish last year, its a must for Boston based mets fans—

          LETS GO METS!

        • appleinahat says:

What dish deal do you have to get SNY in Boston? Do you get it in HD?

        • JohanItOver says:

          DirectTV.

I ordered the regional sports option which gives you the SNY Channel (plus MSG, FSNY, and other regional sports channels such as Mid Atlantic Fox Sports etc..) PLUS I ordered MLB Extra Innings.

The reason I got the Extra Innings Package is because of the MLB blackout rules, which doesnt allow some games to be braodcast on SNY in the Boston Area(don’t even try to uderstand the MLB blackout rules, you’ll drive yourself crazy!!))

When a game is on, Ill try SNY first. If the game is blacked out on SNY, I switch over to the Extra Innings and usually pick up the game from the opposing teams local channel (get ready to be subject to the opposing team broadcasters!)…

The home games on SNY would be HD, the extra innings games wouldnt (that was last year though, not sure how this years is gong to work yet)

        • appleinahat says:

How often are the games blacked out so that you have to watch Extra Innings?

        • TheKooz says:

Also in Boston. Is there a good place to catch the game?

        • motavation says:

Boston Met fans lets work some thing out…where can we congregate?

        • appleinahat says:

Yea, I had a tough enough time finding a place to watch the Giants, Mets need some love in Boston.

        • motavation says:

This might sound outrageous but how about good times in Somerville on that Monday afternoon ?

        • JohanItOver says:

Appleinahat—-its hard to say, or better yet-I can’t quite remember…

but from what I do, its often, maybe a 50/50 split?

other Mets fans in Boston may have a better memory

I just know it was enough where I had to buy the extra innings package. Its also very erratic, you just dont know when a game will be blacked out so if your looking forward to a game, you dont know until gametime whether its blacked out…..I couldnt take it so I ordered the Innings package.

As far as a place to watch the game, we could hit up Game On by Fenway….or there are a bunch of bars on Canal Street next to the Garden that Im sure would have the game…

        • cd925 says:

Game On would be a good place, somewhere towards downtown, I don’t know if Somerville is a good idea.

        • motavation says:

So is it Game On in Boston? …Are we going to make it happen ?

  16. mackey_sassers_arm says:

    Hoboken

    • Jaded1983 says:

      Second Hoboken!

      • mackey_sassers_arm says:

I am meeting a few friends at Black Bear at 1 o’clock for the games. I should be in good shape by 4pm for Johan.

        • saltzy007 says:

Love Black Bear….you gonna be watchin away weekend games there? I like Willie’s (McBrides) as well…

        • bluNoway2go says:

I used to work in Black Bear, man that place is great!

        • mackey_sassers_arm says:

jaded and saltzy, you guys in for blackbear??

        • saltzy007 says:

          For OD? Cant…

during the season though, for sure… Ill be the guy in the Mets Jacket…JK

For certain though ,either grab a beer at the stadium or at a bar sometime…

        • rM teM says:

uh, what’s the address for black bear and how many are going? is this the jerzy location?

        • mackey_sassers_arm says:

black bear is on second and washington. you can probably google black bear hoboken to get exact directions.

      • mackey_sassers_arm says:

Depending on the weather, I like to watch regular season away games on the roof of the Dubliner. But Black bear is great too.

  17. MetsFanInAustin says:

Austin, Texas. I know there are a few Mets fans getting together but more are welcome.

    • HoJoWright says:

Austin! where do you go to watch the games?

      • MetsFanInAustin says:

For the most part we watch at different apartments as a couple of us have mlb extra innings. Otherwise 3rd Base is always a solid option for nationally televised games.

        • HoJoWright says:

3rd Base sounds good. I’m right downtown, I’ll try and get there for the first Nationally televised game. I also have the package

        • metsincitylimits says:

Sweet. I knew I’d seen other blue hats around Austin. Anyone watching the game Monday? I was planning on 3rd Base . . .

  18. DaveyS says:

Most pointless thread ever…. would be much easier to just have the ability to form groups within Metsblog and to coordinate that way.

  19. jahred says:

Anybody in the windy city that has figured out what bar will show the game while the Cubbies and Sox are on TV? Stupid Chicago ….

    • Mr. Bananagrabber says:

I’m going to be in Chicago for the Monday, April 21st Mets-Cubs game…

Any place that Mets fans meet up there? I heard the Cubby Bear after the game, but I don’t know.

      • gottabeliev4evr says:

Chicago Mets fan here. I will be at 22nd game. Will be at Cubbie Bear before; always a mixed fan crowd there.

Cubs fans hold a special hatred for Mets and their fans so be warned. Then again, it always seems that thousands of Mets fans turn out for these games. Thank God!

Super satisfying when the Mets win @ Wrigley!

I know 21st game is nationally televised.

        • DerekBellsMustache says:

I was at all the games in Wrigley the past 2 years and there were tons of Met fans there but that was on the weekends. Can’t make it there this year b/c the games fall on a Monday and Tuesday. Some other good bars by the stadium were Murphy’s Bleachers and Sluggers.

        • SCOTTAY says:

rockford mets fan here. going to be at the 22nd game and will be at cubby bear before the game wearing my Santana jersey.

          Go Mets!!!!!!!

        • reilly171 says:

Born in NJ but live in Chicago about a mile west of Wrigley. My Mets flag flies proudly. Go to each game every year so let me know if there is a meet up.

      • TheIcon says:

Chicago Mets fan here too! Originally from Brooklyn. I can fit a couple of Mets fans in my apartment for the home opener to watch it on Extra Innings. I’ll also be at both games, and the Sox/Yanks game that Tuesday night to boo the Bronx Bombers. So get at me if you wanna hang.

Hey Chicago peeps- check out my site for plans in the next week or so to get a TON of Mets Fans together.

I already know about a group of 20 of us all with bleacher seats for the 4/21 and 4/22 games. We haven’t picked a bar though to meet before and/or after. Though, probably not Cubby Bear. Maybe Merkles (one owner is a Mets fan) or Murphy’s Bleachers.

Drop me an email- rubes79 [at] gmail.com so we can all meet up. I had a very successful meetup last year.

I also know a few bars with the baseball package.

      • Charlie says:

i’m going, as well, not sure that i will make it in time to tailgate. do met fans congregate any where in particular?

        • bluNoway2go says:

I’m relatively new in Miami so I don’t know anywhere specifically where met fans congregate, but rest assure that there is a reason why they call it the 6 borough thus you won’t have a hard time finding fellow Met fans congregating.

    • admetstiger says:

I’m coming down to South Florida from Long Island for the game. I’d like to get a tailgate going.

      • june14th1980 says:

  46. Keyser says:

I have a group of mets fans organized to watch the games. While I don’t have anything scheduled for opening day, I do have a meet scheduled for the first Sunday game, April 6, Mets-Braves, at Barney’s Beanery in the 3rd Street Promenade. Also down in Houston…I’m actually only here during the week (for a work project, back in NYC on the weekends), and have been looking for a decent sports bar with the MLB package to watch the Mets Mon-Wed nights — and would welcome one with other Mets fans. Any thoughts?
