Who cares what kind of leg kick El " I have had a lousy, drama-filled spring breako" is doing." He needs to really just needs to piss or get off the pot because its "go time". None wants to hear his problems during the full season.

El needs to stop thinking so selfishly as well. Who cares what he thinks. He should be doing what the Mets tell him without any lip service. They have been more patient with him than anyone else on that team this winter.

If the Mets start losing this year because of his self serving ways, they are going to be losing some fan base. You can take that to Vegas.

It's on mets.com in the news section. And it's standard process to use irrevocable waivers for dropping players to the minors after they're out of options.

I think I'd prefer Gotay over Tatis. If anything, Gotay was never really given a chance. Even as he was red hot last year, we went out and acquired Castillo. Clearly the Mets front office sees nothing more than a occasional fill-in in Gotay and every other option is a better alternative to Gotay such as a healthy 33 year-old that's only amassed 56 ABs since 2003.

Versatility has nothing to do with Tatis being on the roster (only position where he's played 50 innings is 3B). His RH bat has nothing to do with him being on the roster (he's still a career .260 hitter and the last time he hit .260 we where in a difference millenium). This is a "anyone but Gotay" move by Omar and Willie. You can't deny this.

I'm not saying Gotay will be a star. Far from it actually. What really gets me is the habitual practice of singling certain guys out and never giving them a fair shot at playing time and doing everything possible to run them off.

Gotay also has more present use on the bench than Pagan. And Pagan has options... its baffling.

Tatis/Marlon Anderson/Endy sharing LF while Alou is out would work fine, and Gotay and Easley backup the IF.

It seems so obvious... doesnt it?

The Mets have given up trying to hold onto Steven Register. He’s headed back to the Rockies, and will pitch for Triple-A Colorado Springs. - Adam Rubin

Hi Met fan in Philly... I'm around Philly so I can relate, haha.

Gotay to the Braves? Blah. Well maybe he'll take the Julio Franco approach and never play.

I did hear that the Rockies accepted Register and that is why they are trying to work out a deal.
