"…more importantly, why do i keep listening to them…ugh…”

Well Matt, I'm sure you're aware of the old analogy where it's like a train wreck...it's horrible, but you just have to see (or hear in this case) it through to the end.

Actually Castillo should be ripped for not running. I have little patience for players that don't hustle, there's no excuse for it.

I also love Mike and the Maddog. There is no one better in the business. I don't care that they don't like the Mets.

Oh and I know he's popular here but I can't stand Somers. He's just the worst.

Matt, you couldnt be more wrong with your take on Mike and Chris and WFAN in general. You lose a lot of credibility when you speak on these types of subjects...with me atleast.....to steal a term from Russo.....you are not a pimple on their fanny...they talk about whatever they want whenever they want...as it should be.,....I am a die hard mets fan....Maddog has ticked me off so much recently with his Yunel vs Reyes arguments, etc.....I cants tand them both at times

with that being said, you are wrong. WFAN is and always will be the home of the Mets...as it should be. if you want your site to keep expanding you ebtter stat becoming less of a homer ...its almost as obnoxious as Russos tweaking

I disagree, those guys are morons. I really do not think they add to baseball discussion rather they take away from it. They aren't very responsible with their reporting, they are overly presumptuous and they dont know how to interpret stats and evaluate players intelligently. They are the ones that where unable to see that Barry Zito was a ticking time bomb.

Sigh. Yes, I have missed baseball, but one thing that always drives me nuts is the 24-7 need of the media to stir the pot in this town, and the 162 1-game seasons.

These guys are absolutely determined not to allow us to enjoy anything positive for any amount of time. I'm saying "Gee, that was great" after yesterday, and some idiot at the postgame press conference whines about Castillo not scoring in the first inning. FWIW, I thought Willie handled that just right.

Then this morning, in the TImes, Bill Rhoden (who usually totes his own little raincloud with him anyway), was just as funereal about the collapse as if it were still October 2007-- the thing that pissed me off the most was when he-- and when any other sports writers do this, BTW-- preached about "the thought that must be in the back of the heads of every Mets fan." Well, it wasn't in the back of mine, anymore.
Why does this guy presume to speak for me? Why does he think he knows what's in the back of my head?

THE REASON you guys listen to them is because they aren't just huge met fans, you listen because they antagonize you and get you angry at times. Who wants to listen to 5 hours of some guy wax poetic about the Mets. This is the reason why Joe and Evan and the other guys on the station don't have the top spot. They are all too nice, and too big of mets fans.

Mike and the Mad Dog, get you upset, and get you to call in, just so they can tell you you are wrong (whether you are or are not), and you get so mad when they hang up on you, and promise you will never listen/call again, but you do.

This is the same reason why you don't feel the need to call Joe and Evan or the other personalities, who do not challenge you, and usually just agree with you and tell you you are right.

Also, Mike, whether you hate him or not, has more useless/useful sports knowledge than anyone I have listened to. He knows the history of these sports without having it fed to him by stat people, and he's usually fairly accurate, and if he is wrong he will explain why he is not. Instead of just accepting being obese, and drinking endless amounts of coca cola, he has used his oversized head to cram in as most sports history as humanly possible - That I can appreciate.

I agree wholeheartedly w/ Matt. I know that it's entertainment and these guys pick at the Mets incessantly b/c it provides for good radio but what gets me is Francesca's arrogance. I'm sorry that guy is not pretending, he's just a blowhard who has no respect for the typical fan's opinion. That being said, they're still the only ones to listen to for analysis on the big sporting event. Part of me hates them, but I have to give the devils they're due.

Matt, you have to relax. Who cares what Mike & the Mad Dog say? Obviously they're going to be slightly biased because Mike is a Yankee fan and Chris is just an instigator who likes to stir the pot by criticizing the Mets whenever he can.

Besides, you can always listen to Joe & Evan (or even Boomer & Carton, although they're kind of annoying) if you want more of a pro-Met perspective.
