Mets 3B David Wright will be a guest on the Late Show with David Letterman on April 14, according to a network press release.
…the last time wright appeared alone as a guest on letterman was the 2006 All-Star break, after which he hit just six home runs for the season…most people blame the Home Run Derby for the drought…i blame the yankee-loving letterman…

It was the Derby not Letterman
question. I’d appreciate for someone to answer me. Would it make sense right now to have pagan batting after reyes?
eh, he’s better where he is..i say this because where he is now in the lineup, he has more of a chance to get rbi’s with his great hitting, since it’s likely more players would be on base
I think it makes a heck of a lot of sense, never having been a Castillo fan from the get-go. Of course, Reyes himself has to hit, or who’s batting after him doesn’t matter as much.
I understand giving Castillo a little more time to work it out…it’s only five games in. But I’m really unimpressed with his play and worry about the next 4 years. Having said that, I think he deserves much longer to prove me wrong; but not as long as Willie usually gives his players to snap out of it.
But a guy like Pagan who can actually hit a ball squarely is intriguing.
i think pagan would be a good fit too…church wouldn’t be a bad fit in the 2-hole either, especially if reyes hits, he’d see more fastballs and he could really drive the ball, but either one isn’t going to happen for a while…i am a bit nervous having castillo for the next 4 years…can’t say I have ever really been a fan, but hopefully he can prove me wrong and make some solid contact and production
i hope church and pagan keep it up, they have been the most consistent thus far!
i’m pumped for today, i think they will be ready for this, today would be a moral win, i think they will take it to philly
LET’S GO METS
I’d prefer Church at #2, b/c it would give them more stability. Pagan’s probably only gonna start until Alou comes back.
In regards to today’s win: would you prefer to dominate from the first pitch, or be losing and have a big comeback against the bullpen late in the game? I think the 2nd might actually be more uplifting for us and more demoralizing to the Phillies. That said, I just want a win, even if its the cheapest win in sports history.
haha amen to that. I’ll take a W any way they can get it. personally, with moyer on the mound, i think they should jump on them early to give perez some wiggle room. but of course a dramatic comeback would be uplifting, like you said, GIVE ME THE WIN ANYWAY POSSIBLE PLEASE haha
but yeah, church would be intriguing at number 2, with that power, he is a line drive hitter and instead of ground outs to move the runner to 2nd or 3rd from castillo, it could create 1st and 3rd, or 2nd and 3rd with the big boys coming up, i think it would create more big innings, of course…reyes getting on is key, doesn’t matter, castillo will stay in the 2 hole and deserves at least some more time before moved out
LOL, nice caricature of Letterman.
Offtopic: The roughly 30% of the fans who changed their approval rating of Willie from Yes to No after only 2 games in Atlanta are insane! They must be hell to live with if their estimation of people is so fickle and temperamental.
couldn’t agree anymore. I need at least 3 games to decide whether I approve or not!
wow…I just noticed the 56%….I wonder if he gets booed today.
Castillo stays where he is… Lots of players start slow in April– give ‘em a chance!
didn’t wright say that he was going to not do any PR this season and only focus on baseball…..
How about Castillo and his .360ish career OBP first and Reyes with more power and speed (no need to bunt him over) second?
it won’t happen…but that does intrigues me
This is a must win today. If they don’t win it will be 9 losses in a row to the Philthys and the season will be over. /sarcasm off
Today should be like batting practice against Moyer, boys.
what are wright’s number’s against moyer?…i feel like he’s done well against him…or should do well…slow lefty coming in…he should be sitting for that ball low in the zone and if he gets it in be able to turn on it…hopefully haha…today will be interesting to see how church and delgado do against moyer as well…
LET’S GO METS
i’m pumped
how is it that comments have been turned off since 5-6pm on the day of the mets home opener???
