Thing is, it seems that many of his triples are not big swings. They're level swings that shoot the ball through the gaps. He hasn't been swinging like that for months. He's taking big cuts, and getting under the ball, hitting silly pop-ups around the field. I hope he pulls it back together.

i didn't make your point, sorry. if you want to wear your rose-colored glasses and listen to bobby mcferrin, so be it. but, the least you could do is have respect for the point i was trying to make.

Forget Reyes, to me our glaring weakness is Delgado. A singles hitter with no speed in the middle of the lineup scares me. No reason to panic about Jose, he's got great talent and will put together at least a solid season. But I see absolutely nothing that makes me think Delgado isn't just going to continue on his downward arc. We simply don't have enough run production in that 5-7 area right now.

I like Delgado, but I think he's going to be a tremendous weight on this team this year. Frankly I am more worried about the offense over the pitching for this year.

If we're going to go crazy about how Reyes looked bad for two games, then we should do the same about Wright, who could not buy a hit with runners on during that period.

reyes is glum b/c he played his butt off for years slamming his body into the dirty for triples and stolen bases then went into a month-long slump and his "fans" abandoned him and booed him. they complained he was having too much fun.

Look, Reyes does look bad at the plate, he is not waiting for his pitch and he is swinging at stuff on the ground and throwing his ass to the side when he swings. He does look relaxed or confident at the plate. Something is wrong with him, I think he needs to have fun and play for fun, dance around and enjoy it. like he did on 2006. All the handshakes and high-fives is what made the team exciting and fun and it showed in the way they played.WE NEED HIM BACK!! He needs to get on base and scare the pitcher into throwing bad pitches and dance up and down the third base line and induce a balk, thats what he does best.
