I am kinda tired or everyone bitching about the Lastings deal though. So far Church and Schnieder don't look like bad moves. Granted it is early yet, but Church alone has better numbers and Schnieder has looked better offensively than I expected. Long term I think Lastings is going to be a head case and a problem child. The Santana deal was a good one. We had to give up youngsters for it, but it is worth it. I would like to see more young talent on the team though and less retirement parties. I’m starting to see your point.

Advanced scouting is one thing actually getting your players to play to their full potential is another. Again, I'm not sure how much could have been done there. Every pen blows games, but its going to be tough to see the same guys blow games and not think of 07 every time. Why does it seem we are always pitched to better , or can't get guys out (Burrell for petes sake, see his lifetime stats against us?)
