As noted during my Live Blog yesterday, Darryl Strawberry has signed on with SNY to appear roughly 60 or so times during the network’s pre– and post-game show.
…in other news, i will be on the pre-game show every Wednesday, though i some how bet this is less newsworthy…

Congrats Matt.
I’ve always been impressed with Straw’s speaking and the way he projects. He has a clear, smooth authoritative voice, with no sharp regional accent like Mazilli has. And I love his sense of humor and easy going attitude. I’m looking forward to watching him. I hope he takes to it and it becomes a full time gig for him.
And, Matt, you ain’t too bad either!
No offence to Maz, but he kind of
dresses like a gangster.
LOL, I agree. But I think he does a fairly good job. However, I have a feeling that Straw is going to be a more impactful analyst. He just has more “presence” than Mazilli does.
And kudos to SNY for continuing to pick really good talent — much better than YES.
Burkhardt, Cohen, Darling and Keith are all terrific I saw Coney on the YES telecast yesterday and he’s kind of bland.
Having good announcers makes watching the telecasts that much more enjoyable. Instead of having to endure someone like Fran Healey.
I still don’t like that Hagin guy on the FAN though.
Congratulations, Matt. Like Citi Field, you just keep growing.
I forgot today was Wednesday and I just watched Matt, good to hear someone point out that these games do feel like last year. Keepin’ it real. Hopefully Omar’s watching the pre-game show to hear that the polls are “too emotional” right now.
yup i surely agree.
Maz is a tard. Straw is a God of Mets baseball. Give me more straw.
