The Mets must have sunk pretty far for anyone to get stoked about us signing a pitcher with a career 5.00 ERA.
I consider this another stop-gap typical Omar move.

When you’ve been through the likes of Chan Ho Park, Jose Lima, and Brian Lawrence as fifth-starter plug-ins, Claudio Vargas starts to look like Sandy Koufax.

The Brewers apparently saved some $$$ by releasing Vargas when they did. I also don’t think that the Brewers have a history of managing their staffs real well.
