It's never the same game when a player is out. And that goes for the Mets too, who are missing Alou and Sanchez now. A good team will have an adequate backup for almost every position sitting on the bench. Apparently the Phillies don't have one for SS and that's your team's problem and reflects poor planning by Gillick and your manager. Backups are part of the game too and good teams plan for them.

The point is you can never use injuries as an excuse as all teams suffer them. The good teams plan for them and can compensate.

It doesn't matter if the Mets didn't dominate the Phillies in the first half last year. They had an edge on them, even when Rollins was in the lineup. And they were 11-8 against the Phillies in 2006 when Rollins was also healthy. So he clearly is not some sort of super weapon for your team. Burrell has been more harmful against the Mets than Rollins.

So your justification is two wrongs make a right? Well there goes your credibility. Say bye.

That's not what you were saying, and you know it as well as I do. This is becoming sad.

Okay. He's not using Rollins as an excuse for your team's loss. He just doesn't want you here whining about how he's not in the game, like you've been doing so far.

I would put money on the fact that there are more mets fans posting over at beerleaguer.

if you wanna talk on neutral ground, come to Sports-boards.net. We have 1 Mets fan I pulled from over here, he likes it, but he needs backup big time.

ythe 2010 crack was just saying that you guys always have a deep DL, not sure how you can argue against that. I am just saying that if we are going to wait for our DL's to be completely empty, we might have a longer wait for yours to be clear. But that is the nature of baseball.

Actually he's saying he wants Rollins in there so you can't rely on the same sorry excuse you've been harping on so far.

Yeah, it would have been a different game if we had Alou too. And it would have been a different game if we signed Carlos Lee all those years ago. And it would have been a different game if Pelfrey had thrown a few different pitches, or the Phils didn't swing at a few pitches.

What's done is done. Get over it. We won.
